"Drawing is the first and final medium - there is nothing inbetween.
Drawing is indistinguishable from sculpture - carving something out of nothing - marking, chopping, hacking, pushing, pulling something into view. I've never known drawing as anything but a final medium; I never painted. Drawing builds bridges, dams, maps, topographal plans, directions, weapons, human and animal anatomy and dress."
